Time is most curious. It changes
perspective in the most illogical ways. Had anyone suggested to me ten years
ago of my friendship with a mage from Tevinter, I would have thought them mad.
And yet, of all those I have met save for Valerie, Dorian has my deepest
respect, gratitude and friendship- the words that would divide us and separate
Templar and Mage are long forgotten. And I am better for knowing him.

The events of Kirkwall are no less
dulled in my memories, the loss of those I knew added to an ever growing list.
Josselyn was one of many who fell when the Qunari attacked Kirkwall. At the
time I swore I would forever separate my heart from my duty.

Valerie continues to challenge and test
in ways I had not fully expected. She barrels in when I urge caution-I still
contend it is a need to prove me wrong for her amusement.

I prefer her company far more than I
should, but I am unwilling to withdraw. My focus remains fixed on our task; as Commander I will not fail the Inquisitor, but I cannot forget that neither can
Cullen fail Valerie.
