The Journals of Cullen Rutherford 376

It made little sense to return to
Skyhold; Rylen and the bulk of our forces wait a day’s ride from Val Firmin and in the interest of time we will continue west.
Valerie’s companions should reach the base camp near Adamant a day or so before
us. With only the five of us to travel, we will cover far more ground in less
time.

Rylen has my trust, he knows enough to hold
back and keep our numbers hidden. Leliana’s advance scouting party reports no
fortification or outward sign the Wardens expect us. The staggered camps of the
Inquisition should raise no alarm as our presence is expected by the people.

My journal travels with me, but may not
have occasion to write as before. I should like to try at the very least,
despite what I expect to be a grueling trip through heat and sand, I find the time with my thoughts has helped immensely.

One bit of levity rose from the ordeal with the Orlesian court. I was forced to turn over my dress uniform.. Apparently Lady Josephine overhead a conversation I had with Dorian prior to her departure. Essentially, the two of us conspired to conveniently lose said atrocity somewhere along the road or even commit the uniform to the sands.  Josephine failed to see the humor and demanded our uniforms be remanded to her.

I agreed with Dorian. A proper send off and disposal would have been extremely satisfying.
